Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting East Market, a gem amongst Milan’s endless options for retail therapy. Modeled after the famous East London Markets, this shopping mecca offers just about anything you could want: books, vintage clothes and accessories, furniture, vinyls, artwork, etc etc etc. Many items are handmade by local artisans, making them more valuable and memorable than the useless dust collectors typically found at these types of showrooms.
East Market also offers Heineken drafts, a Jameson whiskey bar, and gourmet concession stands (come on people, this is Italy. There is always food involved…always.) Perhaps even better than the snacks and shopping is the in-house DJ who played an energizing mix of top 40, oldies remixes, and 2000’s hip hop.
Imagine the sight: cold beer in hand, vintage Céline sunglasses and Prada bags, Ludacris hits blasting. This is my idea of a Sunday well spent.
