Marni x Zalando Collaboration

Being a regular commuter on the Milanese metro, I sometimes take note of the ads plastered throughout the subway stations. Normally, they are of no interest to me, but one (or rather, a series) recently caught my attention. The ad I first saw featured a super-chic pair of white penny loafers with black tassels. I automatically zoned in on the word “Marni” below them. Why the hell is Marni advertising in metro stations?, I thought to myself. Then I noticed the fine print: Dr. Martens. At that moment it all made sense.

Italian luxury brand Marni has partnered with beloved footwear brands Dr. Martens, Timberland, Vans, and Reebok to create one-of-a-kind, limited-addition shoes at an affordable price point. Berlin-based e-commerce Zalando is the exclusive seller for these cool kicks. See below to get more details about the styles. Click the link above to view the complete collaboration collection.

Dr. Martens

This collection stays true to the signature Dr. Martens quirkiness. Crackled leather give the shoes an updated elegance. The loafers shown here most closely resemble a true pair of Marni shoes in comparison to all the others from this collaboration.

Timberland’s rugged boot gets a touch of class with smooth leather and suede. A knitted cuff with trademark Marni stripes make them unique.

Vans high-top and low-top sneakers go from rolling to runway with the addition of a brushstroke effect “V”, tassels, and crackled leather.

Reebok’s Instapump Fury couldn’t be any hotter right now, and this collaboration is capitalizing on that. The Club C style also gets a breath of new life. An interesting mix of textures and colors make these sneakers like no other on the market today.
